Product Details

A PROTOTYPE .22 GERALD CARDEW MODEL GC1 CO2-POWERED AIR-RIFLE, no visible serial number,
circa 1980's, with 27 5/8in. barrel, ramp and bead fore-sight, adjustable rear-sight, bolt action receiver (currently frozen), competently produced chequered beech half-stock, rocking safe within the trigger guard bow and under-barrel reservoir with further 'quick change' refillable inner cylinder and fitted with a leather sling

Provenance: Gerald Cardew was a well known writer and general airgun 'boffin' who wrote a regular column for Airgun World magazine. He was famous for his work with various pneumatic arms, long before the modern generation of Pre-Charged Pneumatics or 'PCPs' became popular. Co2 powered airguns were on licence in the UK at the time and later on Gerald did a number of conversions of Co2 guns to PCP, but this was his first (and believed last) foray into actual gunmaking and used Co2 as it was more readily available at the time
